NEWSLETTER FOR DECEMBER 2011
"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Luke 4:18, 19
We wish you a blessed and prosperous 2012 like only the Lord can provide to you!
I believe the past year has been a favor of the Lord year for us because so many hundreds of people received Jesus and many signs and miracles have followed. Yes, in many ways it was difficult but with the help of God it was a year of favor for the orphan children. With God’s help we accomplished many wonderful things for Dove House. The Lord helped us both spiritually and financially to care for them. I am reminded how Samuel said (Samuel 7:12) "...thus far the Lord has helped us.”
Praise God, December was a very busy month with evangelizing and pastor meetings. On December 3rd we had a very nice pastor meeting as over 300 pastors attended our meeting. The conference was sponsored by a special guest in brother Dirk Jansen of Holland. The conference was followed by revival meetings in many cities. We are scheduled from now through May with these revival meetings all over the country. Pray that we will have favor everyplace we go and that souls will be saved, healing – both spiritual and physical – will be manifest before us. We are seeing God’s beauty in salvation everywhere we go.
CHILDREN
Even though there was financial difficulty the Lord helped us to provide nice Christmas gifts for the children at Dove House and Bethany House. By Christmas the Tolleson family from the US (who wanted to adopt Andrea at Dove House) visited us. Unfortunately international adoptions were stopped before their file was complete. The time they spent with Andrea and the other children in the house was very special.
In December we celebrated Eva’s birthday. She is 16 years old and in the 10th grade in high school. She is doing well at school and she wants to become a veterinarian because she loves animals so much. We are praying the Lord will help her and the other children from the house to become what they like to do in their life. But, we feel, and tell them, that the most important thing for them is that they love Jesus and they go to church.
We asked Andrea, Eva and Rupi to read a Bible story and pray with the smaller children every night before going to bed. Each older child has a small group of children to pray with. They are doing such a great job and we are so proud of them. They like to be involved in this kind of ministry.
The children from Bethany House enjoyed Christmas too. In this house the situation is little bit different than Dove House because there are only 9 children and a couple who live with them. They are each doing well at school and they have an educational teacher at home to help them with homework.
I ask you to please help us to resolve the situation with the monthly support for Bethany House because in the last two months we were short $876 each month. We will need to find these extra funds somehow. Though this is an extra burden on us, all I know to do is tell you and tell God. Please pray with me about this.
Regarding the new law from the office of child protection, we need to renew our authorization for Dove House. For this reason we need to change some things: the door from the bathroom is not allowed to be in the dining room now and we need to change all of the floor tiles too.
Please continue to pray that the Lord will help us provide for all the needs of the children.
